1. The Michigan Film Office confirmed the next DC Entertainment Super Hero movie from Warner Bros. Pictures is approved for a film incentive from the state. The film was awarded an incentive of $35 million on $131 million of projected in-state expenditures

2. Zack Snyder will direct. Snyder co-wrote the story with David S. Goyer, who wrote the screenplay. Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder are producing. Zack Snyder directed this summer's blockbuster "Man of Steel." Other movies include: "Legends of the Guardians," "300," and "Watchmen."

3. The movie brings together Superman and Batman in the same movie for the first time.

4. The movie isn't titled "Batman vs Superman" - at least, not yet. The movie is officially listed as untitled.

4. Production is scheduled to begin in early 2014.

5. Yes, Ben Affleck is starring in the movie as Batman. Henry Cavill will play Superman, reprising his role from "Man of Steel." Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, and Diane Lane are also cast.
Detroit is a great example of a quintessential American city, and I know it will make the perfect backdrop for our movie.

6. Don't like Affleck in the movie? There's a petition to remove him; 88,000 people have signed.

7. Snyder on filming in Detroit: “Detroit is a great example of a quintessential American city, and I know it will make the perfect backdrop for our movie."

8. More on incentives: The production is expected to hire 406 Michigan workers, with a full time equivalent of 426 jobs, plus an additional 6,000 man/days of extra work. The production anticipates using approximately 500 local Michigan vendors during the course of production and spending $5.1 million on local hotels, as well as an additional $3.5 million in out-of-town cast and crew per diem payments that will be spent in the local economy but which fall outside of the incentive program.
